RELEASE OF DON INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INFRASTRUCTURE ARCHITECTURE (ITIA) DOCUMENT The Department of the Navy's Chief Information Officer (DON CIO) announces availability of the initial release, version 0.9, of the Department's Information Technology Infrastruture Architecture (ITIA) document. The ITIA is intended to guide all Navy and Marine Corps network related implementation efforts and to facilitate convergence on a single, comprehensive DON ITI architecture. The document describes network connectivity and network services, includes the Department's wide area connectivity plan, and provides design templates to serve as frames of reference for planners of metropolitan area networks, campus area networks, and Information Technology Services Centers. The ITIA is available for download from the DON CIO website at <http://www.doncio.navy.mil/links/publications&;gt;. Electronic comments are invited through 20 January 1999.
