This project consists of reconstructing approximately 2 miles of trail using aggregate base course, cinder surfacing, geotextile, bullrail, various types of boardwalk, log and rock steps, single and double log bridges, waterbars, log open drains, subgrade stabilization, and other miscellaneous work including construction of an Adirondak shelter and deck. The project site is on Kruzof Island approximately 15 miles west of Sitka, Alaska. Project access and material logistics will be primarily by boat, barge, and/or helicopter. The estimated start work date is April 1, 1999. The contract time will be approximately 150 calendar days. The estimated price range is between $250,000 and $500,000.
