This announcement is for market research purposes only. Please do not request a solicitation package or to be added to the source list at this time. The Squadron Officer School, located in Building 1403, Maxwell AFB, AL is seeking sources, availability, and estimated cost information to furnish and install a complete Video Camera System that shall connect to the Air University Cable System. This system must have the capability to send a camera signal from the Polifka Auditorium to the Air University Cable Network for surveillance and recording. All required cabling, connectors, and peripheral equipment must be furnished to install the new video camera system. The objective of this system is to install a video signal to the Air University Cable Network station for broadcast throughout the academic circle. This camera system shall have the capability to be upgraded to support video teleconferencing to and from the Polifka auditorium. The proposed work will include providing all equipment, cabling, labor,tools, test equipment and materials required to deliver, install, integrate and test the equipment for acceptance by the Government. Work includes but is not limited to, installation of the new equipment, relocation and rewiring existing equipment. When installation is complete the contractor shall be responsible for insuring that all equipment installed functions as a complete integrated system. The contractor must provide two copies of documentation on all components installed prior to the system being accepted by the Government. The following scope and specific conditions are required: A color video camera system (low light) consisting of four (4) cameras with pan/tilt, zoom focus and remote control to the booth. Camera lens must be capable of viewing the entire width of the stage from the rear of the auditorium and also provide a close up body shot of individuals presenting presentations. Three camera will be mounted on the back wall of Polifka auditorium. Distance form the cameras to the stage area is 125 feet. One camera will be mounted on the stage area to get a video shot of the audience. The distance from this camera to the back of the auditorium is 125 feet. The camera system must also be able to interface with existing equipment which consists of four Sony inch video recorders model SVO-1610, one Sony inch video recorder model VO-5850, four Sony Trinitron monitors model PVM 8220, one Sony camera control unit (CCU-M5), three Videotek 12/1 switchers and one Panasonic digital AV mixer model WJ-MX50. This agency is conducting a Market Survey (Sources Sought Synopsis). This is a Request for Information (RFI) ONLY. It is not a Request for Proposal (or solicitation) or an indication that a contract will exist for this equipment. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION OR OTHERWISE PAY FOR THE INFORMATION SOLICITED. Firms who wish to respond to this Request for Information are asked to send information regarding (1) Company's full name, address, and point of contact; (2) list of products that meet the stated criteria and related pricing; (3) list of contract vehicles; e.g. GSA Schedule Contract; currently in place that will allow base level ordering and (4) any other brochures and prepared literature that provide further explanation of offered video system. Specific responses should address management qualifications and provide past performance information relevant to government and commercial customers capable of providing video systems. This agency will review respondent packages and may contact selected firms for face-to-face discussions. Prospective contractors will be required to conduct an oral presentation of the system offered. As industry may expect to see portions of submitted information in a future solicitation, no proprietary information may be submitted. Responses must also include their business size and state that the contractor is not on the GSA Parties Excluded from Procurement Programs. To be eligible to receive a contract award the contractor must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) data base. There are (NO EXCEPTIONS.) All responsible sources may respond to this Request for Information which shall be considered by the agency. The deadline for submissions is January 11, 1999.
