This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This requirement will be awarded using simplified acquisition procedures IAW FAR 13.5. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation F41691-99-BA002 is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-06. This requirement is unrestricted. The SIC code is 7372, Prepackaged software and 7389, Software Maintenance, size standard is 1000. The requirement consists of 711 ea UNIX System 5, Release 4 Upgrade for AT&T 3B2 and 1 year Software maintenance for 711 ea UNIX System 5, Release 4 for AT&T 3B2. Delivery will be made to Randolph AFB TX on or about 01 Jan 99. It is the intent of the Government to award a contract on a sole source basis to Lucent Technologies pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. Interested parties capable of providing the above, must submit written price and technical proposals providing firm evidence of their ability to perform.
