NASA/SSC plans to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for the acquistion of market research and support services for NASA's Commercial Remote Sensing Program Office at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi. Market research is required to assess the state of the commercial remote sensing industry and to identify emerging opportunities;the contractor is required to formulate, administer and analyze the results of survey instruments that are designed to characterize the market. Surveys will be administered to trade and industry asscoiations, customer and end user groups, data collection firms, value added resellers, distributors and others involved in the remote sensing industry, and for communicating results to the government. Period of performance of this effort is six (6) months. The Statement of Work will be included in the solicitation document. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR PART 12. The SICCode and Size Standard are 8741 and 5.0 M respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurment is DO C9e. The anticipated release date of RFQ 13-SSC-Q-98-28 is on or about December 29, 1998 with an anticipated quote due date of on or about January 12, 1999. All qualified responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B".
