The altering in any way of existing work shall be carried on in such a manner as to prevent injury or damage to any portion of the existing work which remains. Existing work to remain, if damaged during construction operations, is the responsibility of the Contractor and shall be repaired or replaced in kind and in a manner to match existing or adjoining work, as approved by the Contracting Officer. The contractor shall survey the area to note any existing damage to the paint, joints, lights and light sealant.
