Rowland, Contracting Officer This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and an award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service intends to issue a Request for Quotations (RFQ) for a network of 18 water monitoring stations located throughout the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. The following capabilities are required for each basic station: 1) Data loggers capable of handling sensors for water level, precipitation and water quality (pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, conductivity) ; 2) Sensors for water level, precipitation and water quality )pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, conductivity) ; 3) Remote access via GOES satellite; 4) Maximum lightning protection; 5) Tamper-resistant housing; and 6) Platforms for each station. Contractor is to provide installation of all of the above stations and equipment. The proposed contract is 100% set-aside for Small Business concerns with a Size Standard of 500 employees. The SIC Code is 6635. Tentative issue date for RFQ is on or about 01/04/99. A firm fixed price order will be issued. Anticipated award will be on or about 01/31/99.
