The Vicksburg Consolidated Contracting Office is proposing to enter into a firm-fixed price, best value, research and development contract for the fabrication, delivery and installation of directional spectral wave generators (DSWG) for USAE Waterways Experiment Station (WES) located at Vicksburg, Warren County, Mississippi. The objective of this solicitation is to replace the existing directional spectral wave generator (DSWG) with state of the art equipment. The DSWG shall be able to generate regular, irregular, cnoidal, explosion, implosion (bulls eye), solitary, tsunami, wave groups, and episodic waves. Some of the unique features of the existing DSWG include its portability, electric drive mechanism, and link-type wave board drive. Scope of work will include (a) design, fabrication, and installation of a directional spectral wave generator (DSWG) system to include the main frame, wave board drive subsystem, and the digital control subsystem in a total length of approximately 90 ft (27.4m); (b) software and user manuals for communicating with the digital control system and resident software; (c) system commissioning and testing after installation; (d) manual and drawings; (e) spare parts; (f) training; (g) all transportation costs to installation site at Vicksburg, MS.; (h) warranty and (i) options for improved design and performance, longer warranty and increased quantity.
