indefinite quantity, task order service contract is to assist USACE --
Galveston District (CE) in conducting cultural resource investigations
in conjunction with CE planning, construction, operations and
maintenance projects within the boundaries of the Galveston District,
Texas and Louisiana. This procurement will result in the award of one
indefinite quantity task order contract for a period of one year with
options to extend for four additional one-year periods. The contractor
is to furnish all personnel, facilities, plant, equipment,
materials,supplies, and services necessary to conduct any studies and
investigations and to prepare and provide any report as specified in
the contract. Services anticipated to be ordered include: 1)
historical/archival research andinformant interviews; 2) reconnaissance
and intensive terrestrial surveys; 3) terrestrial site testing and
excavation; 4) special studies; 5) archeological laboratory analyses;
6) technical reports; and 7) National Register nomination forms. All
work and services ordered under the contract shall be completed by the
contractor within the time negotiated and specified in each
fixed-price task order. Evaluation criteria and their relative
importance will be provided in the Request for Proposals (RFP). All
(large or small) qualified firms interested in responding to this RFP
should send a letter of interest to the above address or fax number
within 10 days of this announcement. This letter should include
information of the interested firm's size (i.e. small business, small
disadvantaged business, 8(a), or large business). This information will
be used by the Contracting Officer to determine if there is sufficient
interest from small business concerns to make this acquisition a 100%
set- aside for small business.If adequate interest is not received
from small business concerns within 10 days from the date of this
announcement, then this solicitation will be issued on an unrestricted
basis. The tentative date for issuance of the RFP is January 15, 1999.
Tentative date for receipt of proposals is February 16, 1999. Posted
