C -- A/E SERVICES FOR PROJECT NO. 691-309, CONSTRUCT COVERED WALKWAY SOL 600-048-99 DUE 012899 POC Lisa Rogers (562) 494-5534 Architect-Engineer Services for the project entitled "Covered Walkway", Project No. 691-309 at the VA Medical Center, West Los Angeles,CA. Provide A/E Services including technical evaluation, preliminary report, specifications, working drawings, site visits, cost estimate, and construction period services under a firm-fixed price contract. Construction cost range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The intent of this project is to construct an elevated enclosed covered walkway between buildings 500, 304/507, and the new Mental Health Clinic Building. This shall be an acceptable standard patient transport between the Ambulatory Care Clinics on the 1st Floor of Building 500 and B304, B507 (MRI Bldg.), and the new Mental Health Clinic. Work will consist of installing a two stop hydraulic elevator, new construction for elevated enclosed walkways, demolition for connection to existing buildings and electrical work. All design shall comply with VA publications "Planning Criteria for Medical Facilities" H-08-9, NFPA, VA Standards, NEC, and JCAHO codes and local regulations. Significant evaluation criteria includes: (1) professional qualifications of proposed project team; (2) specialized experience and technical expertise in the type of work required; (3) past performance on related contracts with Government agencies or private industries in terms of cost control, quality of work, and compliance with performing schedules; (4) must be located within a 100 mile radius of the VA Medical Center, West Los Angeles, CA. The A/E must be able to demonstrate his qualifications (with respect to the published evaluation factors) to perform the listed procurement. A/E firms which meet the requirements described in this announcement are invited to submit a completed SF 254 (A/E & Related Services Questionnaire) and SF 255 (A/E & Related Services Questionnaire for Specific Project) a total of two each to the office shown above, by close of business January 28, 1999.
