Y -- CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW AIRPORT TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER SOL DTFA05-99-R-00671 DUE 123098 POC Maria Gallo Contracting Officer (718) 553-3087 The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is constructing a new Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) facility to replace the tower currently in use at Newark. The new ATCT facility will have two adjoining buildings; one to provide space for administrative purposes and the other to house mechanical equipment. The ATCT is a pile supported precast concrete structure (consisting of structural and architectural precast panels or glass curtain wall system) containing a control cab; employee bathroom and breakroom; mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment areas; stairway; elevator; and cable shaft. The tower will cover an area of ground 34 feet by 34 feet and will be 300 feet tall to the cab floor (355 feet tall to the top of the roof). A precast concrete and glass structure will link the ATCT to the administrative base building. The administrative base building and environmental support wing is a pile/grade beam supported one story steel framed structure clad with architectural precast concrete panels. The combined size of the two areas is 12,000 square feet. Ancillary structures on-site are a precast concrete transformer/collector bus structure (25 feet x 30 feet), an above ground fuel storage tank (for the emergency generator) and a garbage dumpster enclosure. This project is set aside for Large Business. The estimated range for this project is $25,000,000 to $35,000,000. The FAA will issue Request for Offers to the following pre-qualified companies: 1.
