301-402-2282 This is a combined synopsis/notice of the intent to
procure a commerical item prepared in accordance with the format in
subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in
this notice. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Dieases
intends to procure from Molecular Devices Corporation their
Spectramax(r)plus Microplate Spectrophotometer with SOFTmax(r) PRO, an
automated microplate reader which has a turnable wavelength range from
190 nm to 1000nm, PathCheck(r) sensor for measuring the path length of
the sample in the microplate well with a built-in cuvette port and
cuvette data; SPECTRAtest(r) validation package to perform eight
(8)tests to verify the optical performance of the SPECTRAmax(r) Plus
for good lab practices (GLP) compliance. The acquisition will entail
the purchase of an automated microplate reader. Which has a tunable
wavelength range from 190 nm to 1000 nm, PathCheck(r) sensor. It is
used for measuring the path length of the sample in the microplate well
with abuilt-in cuvette port and cuvette data. It also includes a
SPECTRAtest(r) validation package, to perform eight(8) tests to verify
the optical performance of the SPECTRAmax(r) PLUS for good laboratory
practices (GLP) compliance. SEE NUMBER 22 the provision at 52.212-2,
Evaluation-Commerical Items,applies to this acquisition. The government
shall award a fixed price purchased order to the responsible
contractor. The clause at 52.212-4,Contract terms and
conditions-Commerical Items applies to this acquisition. The clause at
52-212-5, Contract terms and conditions required to Implement Statures
or Executive Orders-Commerical Items applies to this acquisition. The
clauses of subpart (b), which apply, are 6 & 10. Delivery shall be
completed fifteen (15) days after award to: NIH/NIAID, 9000 Rockville
Pike, Building 4, Bethesda, MD 20892. Any response is due no later than
3:00PM Eastern Standard Time January 19, 1999 to Hanif S. Abdul-Amin.
