Dell Hledik, Contracting Officer, (760)939-3772 The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, CA intends to procure services to do routine repair, preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance as well as packing and unloading and setting up machine tools and associated equipment on a Time and Materials basis. All facets of machine shop Government-owned equipment and tool repairs and maintenance are required including electronic machine repair and maintenance. The primary areas of work is China Lake, CA and the secondary area of work is Point Mugu, CA. However, the crew may be required to work at other Government facilities. Types of equipment to be maintained include, but not limited to, NC/CNC Controls by Allen-Bradley, Bridgeport, Bendix, Giddings & Lewis and General Electric, Digital Readouts by Analim, Bausch & Lomb and Sheffield, lathes by Hermes, Gildemeister and Hardinger, and milling machines by Bridgeport Cinitimat. Other examples include CNC and conventional lathes, mills, grinders, dye penetrant, non-destructive test equipment, EDM, water jet cutter, laser welding and cutting machines, sheet metal and CNC presses, CMM, and mechanical inspection equipment, rapid prototype machines, heat treat furnaces, sand blasting equipment, DI systems, hydroforming machines, composite filament winding and autoclave machines. Maintenance of specialized shock absorbent wood block flooring on which tools are mounted and any related shop utilities (air, water, electrical) will also be required. General requirements are that personnel possess required minimum skills and experience per job category, necessary licenses, certifications and training to perform and operate trucks, carts, sweepers, fork lift trucks and a 15-ton overhead crane. China Lake is located approximately 120 miles northeast of Los Angeles. For emergency repairs, the Government requires that the contractor shall have its personnel on-site at the emergency location at the China Lake site within 90 minutes after being notified. Anticipated period of performance is 3 years with 2-one year optional periods. Anticipated award date is 15 Sep 99 with an effective date of 1 Oct 99.
