The USCG Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific, proposes to contract for the drydocking and repair of USCGC POINT EVANS (WPB 82354). The POINT EVANS is homported in Lihue, HI. Work is restricted to the Hawaian Islands at the contractor's facility. Major work includes, but is not limited to the following items: gantt (bar) production chart; hull, frame, and bulkhead inspection and replacement; ultrasonic hull thickness; underwater body inspection; fuel oil tank clean and inspect; sewage tank clean and inspect; bridge console panel overhaul; pilot house interior preservation; shaft packing gland and stern tube hose renewal; heat exchanger cleaning and testing; electric motor overhaul; electric meter calibration; fathometer transducer renewal; cleaning and calibration of presssure, temperature, and tachometer gauges; boiler piping renewal; sea valve overhaul; steering cable and hydraulic booster system inspection and overhaul; boat boom overhaul; mast preservation; underwater body preservation (partial); zinc anode renewal; insulation/sheathing renewal; temporary services; drydock and hauling; superstructure preservation; freeboard preservation; and mat preservation. Period of performance is 07 June 1999 -- 16 July 1999. This solicitation will be issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the agency. This notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
