FISC Norfolk Detachment Philadelphia proposes to modify existing contract N00140-97-C-N241 with Medical Technologies of Hampton Road for 1.5MRI services in support of the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA. The subject contract will be modified in order to allow for an extension in contract performance for up to nine (9) months. The Contractor is responsible for the following services: (1) delivery, set-up and ultimate removal of a turnkey MRI modular facility; (2) operation of this facility by contractor provided full- time staff consisting of radiologists, nurses, technologists, receptionists and transcriptionists; (3) complete maintenance and housekeeping of the MRI modular facility; and (4) removal of the MRI modular facility upon completion of the extension period. This action is required in order to provide continuity of services before a follow- on contract can be placed. Medical Technologies of Hampton Road is considered the only firm which can timely support the immediate needs of the Government without a costly start- up period. This extension modification to contract 97-C- N241 is for services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their interests and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT AREQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
