Furnish all labor, tools, equipment, materials, new "twin strainer" water strainers and replacement generator supply and return water header piping for installation at the Whitney Power Plant. The Contractor shall remove the two existing strainers from the Power Plant, and shall perform all work, adaptation, adjustments necessary for the complete installation of two new replacement raw water strainers. The Contractor shall also be required to remove the existing water header piping, both supply and return, and provide direct replacement, with steel pipe, of custom formed and curved piping to the two generators and install additional flange sets on the header piping. Note that only one generator unit may be out of service at a time. The Contractor shall be required to remove the existing strainers and water headers and dispose of them off site. Cost Range: $100,000 to $250,000. No express mail procedures will be utilized on initial mailing of plans and specs. The solicitation is tentatively scheduled toissue on or about 14 January 1999, and the bid opening date will be on or about 17 February 1999. Duration of contract is an estimated 180 calendar days.
