of maintenance dredging the Rudee Inlet Entrance Channel and Sand Trap
by hydraulic pipeline method. The Entrance Channel shall be dredged to
depths varying between 10 feet and 12 feet MLLW (NOS) with 2 feet of
allowable overdepth at each respective depth; and the Sand Trap to a
depth of 18 feet MLLW (NOS) with 2 feet of allowable overdepth. The
contractor shall place the dredged material in the
Government-furnished, unconfined, shoreline dredged material management
area, and provide finished elevations and grades in the placement area
to the tolerances specified. Including estimated accretion to April
1999 and allowable overdepth, the project involves dredging
approximately 65,200 cubic yards of material. Magnitude of construction
is estimated to be between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. Duration of
the project is 40 calendar days. This is an unrestricted procurement.
SIC Code 1629 applies. Solicitation documents are available from
Defense Automated Printing Services(DAPS), 1641 Morris Street, Norfolk,
VA 23511, (757)444-5968, in the non-refundable amount of $12.50 for
CD-ROM only. DAPS will accept checks and money orders as payment.
Solicitation documents are NOT available for purchase from the Norfolk
District. Documents will be available on/about January 21, 1999.
