The extension of the existing contract for an interim period (anticipated to be one year) is required to ensure Government coverage until implementation of the total system support responsibility (TSSR) strategy outlined in the WR- ALC letter regarding Joint STARS Integrated Support, dated 17 December 1998. Contractor Logistics Support to include, but not limited to, Contractor field level technical assistance for production aircraft, maintenance and support for the In-Flight Trainer Aircraft, procurement/management of initial non-government managed spares through a Contractor Operated and Maintained Base Supply (COMBS) system. Flying hour support for Joint STARS aircraft, to include depot level repair and reprocurement, deployment of contractor personnel in support of peacetime/wartime contingencies, program management oversight, scheduled and unscheduled depot level maintenance (PDM) of Joint STARS aircraft, to include over and above work, in accordance with depot level work package, removal/replacement of selected wing panels and stringers, contract field team support, engineering support, technical data support, data deliverables, and travel in support of Govt required trips.
