consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary
for the phased construction that will provide the Everett Processing &
Distribution Facility, located at 8120 Hardeson Road, Everett,
Washington, with a new loading dock and parking lot along with other
building additions and modifications as follows: The Loading Dock
Expansion includes removal of the existing loading dock, concrete
apron, asphalt paving, etc. as required for installation of the new
loading dock, concrete apron, offices, toilets, lookout gallery, etc..
The new loading dock is a slab on grade, tilt-up concrete building to
roughly match existing. The roof structure is steel bar joists and
deck with membrane roofing over rigid insulation. There are
modifications required to existing building components as well as
mechanical and electrical systems. There are extensive requirements for
loading dock equipment and safety devices. To do the loading dock
expansion it will be necessary for the USPS to maintain an operational
loading dock. In addition, there will be a New Employee Entrance, New
Employee and Truck Parking Lots, Pedestrian Overpass, BMEU
Modifications, East Dock Enclosure, and West Employee Parking Lot and
Vehicle Entrance. Contractor must have experience on projects of
similar size and scope. Postal construction experience is preferred.

specifications will be available January 5, 1999. Offers are due
February 4, 1999. Performance time is 225 calendar days from receipt of
notice to proceed. On site contact is Mr. Gary Wood, Maintenance
Manager, (425/3355-7788, Ext. 246). Site visitation is not mandatory,
but strongly encouraged. Estimated Cost Range: $3 million to $3.7
million. Cost is $125 per set for Priority Mail service (2 to 3 days),
$175 per set for Express Mail service (next day). All charges are
