material and equipment necessary to perform drydock repairs including,
but not limited to, the following Base Items: (1) 65' WYTL watertight
hatch replacement, (2) Modify sewage tank accessibility, (3) Remove,
inspect, and reinstall propeller shaft, (4) Renew water lubricated
shaft bearings, (5) Remove, inspect, and reinstall propeller,(6) Clean
MDE, SSDG and SSB exhaust stacks, (7) Clean and test MDE grid cooler,
(8) Relocate grid coolers for both ship service diesel generators, (9)
preserve the transducer hull ring and install the V850 transducer, (10)
Renew valves, (11) Clean and inspect diesel fuel tanks, (12) Remove,
inspect and reinstall rudder, (13) Clean and inspect sewage and grey
water collection, holding tank, (14) Clean, inspect and disinfect
potable water tank, (15) Preserve weather deck, (16) Renew corrosion
preventive zinc anodes, (16) Provide temporary logistics, and (17)
Routine Drydocking. Options include, but are not limited to the
following items: (1) Welding repairs, (2) Fabricate and install
propeller seal retainer, (3) Renew shaft covering, (4) Straighten
shaft, (5) Renew shaft sleeves, (6) Perform minor repair and
reconditioning of propeller, (7) Blast diesel fuel tanks, (8) Renew
rudder bearings, (9) Preserve underwater body, (10) Preserve sewage and
grey water collection and holding tank, (11) Preserve potable water
tank, and (12) Ultrasonic testing. Vessel's homeport is South Portland,
Maine. Vessel length is 65 foot "B" class harbor tug. Vessel's
availability is for thirty-five (35) days, starting May 3, 1999. The
place of performance for this vessel is geographically restricted to no
open water transit and open waters of the cutters assigned area of
operations, from the Massachusetts/New Hampshire boarder up to Port
Clyde, Maine Marshall Point. There will be a non-refundable charge of
$100.00 required, in the form of a certified check or money order
payable to the U.S. Coast Guard, for requested drawings. All other
referenced documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street,
Suite 600, Norfolk, Virginia. Funds are available for this procurement.
The proposed contract listed here is part of the Small Business
Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Plans and specifications will be
issued on or around January 27, 1999. All responsible sources may
submit a bid, which shall be considered by the United States Coast
Guard. This notice is for informational purposes for Minority,
