Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Southeast Regional, Atlanta,
Georgia is soliciting the services of a qualified medical entity
located with a seventy (70) mile radius of FCI Edgefield, South
Carolina for the provision of comprehensive medical services. The
services will be provided to inmates incarcerated at the federal
Correctional Institution. The hospital shall make available on a
nondiscriminatory basis, inpatient and outpatient services, in a manner
consistent with the medical needs of the patient in accordance with
medical standards for quality and cost-effective patient care. The
preferred payment methodology for these services (which will receive
preference in both award and patient referrals) is the medicare
reimbursement methodologies in effect at the time services are
rendered. All services (usually outpatient) not covered by Medicare,
shall be charges as low or lower than those charged to the hospital's
most favored customer for comparable quantities under similar termsand
conditions. Hospitals are requested to contact the Contracting officer
listed in this notice. All requests for solicitation packages or
information must be in writing and include the RFP number. No telephone
requests are allowed. The estimated issue date for the (Request for
Proposal) solicitations will be available on or around 01/15/99, with
an anticipated receipt of proposal date of March 15, 1999. The contract
will include a base year not to exceed twelve months and four (4) one
year option renewal periods. The estimated inpatient days are as
follows: Base year minimum 50, maximum 500 inpatient days. Option year
one (1) minimum 50, maximum 500 inpatient days, Option year two (2)
minimum 50, maximum 500 inpatient days, Option year three (3) minimum
50, maximum 500 inpatient days, and Option year four (4) minimum 50 and
