The Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory is seeking potential suppliers to design and fabricate a miniature free motion position indicating system to track the location and orientation of a hand held ultrasonic test probe. The position indicating system will encode three positional and three rotational degrees-of-freedom, operate in a restrictive (line-of-sight not guaranteed) environment, weigh less than 20 pounds, and be immune to surrounding ferromagnetic material. The target spatial resolution is +/-0.02 inches and +/-1 degree (rotation).
