(804-327-0560) Provide instructional materials for Kindergarten-Eighth
Grade DoDEA Mathematics Program. Solicitation MDA414-99-R-0001 due
03/26/99. Publishers will be required to submit student textbooks or
equivalents, teacher's editions of the student text, teacher's resource
packages/materials, student workbooks or equivalents, assessment
materials, parent involvement books if available, manipulative
materials if available, and technological and multi-media materials if
available. The publisher shall also provide related professional
development training and support services as requested prior to the
full implementation of the adopted materials in the classroom.
Publishers shall submit program materials for grades K-8 for review and
evaluation. A maximum of three awards will be made as a result of this
solicitation for the grade groupings of K-2, 3-5, and 6-8. However,
the Government may award only one contract for a publisher's complete
K-8 program. All materials required shall adhere to the following
standards: Textbooks or equivalent materials for each grade level of
each program shall be consistent with the DoDDS grades K-8 Mathematics
Standards (available at DoDEA's web site, http://www.odedodea.edu).
All materials within each program shall include collaborative and
cooperative learning techniques and developmentally appropriate
activities. All teachers' materials shall include recommended
activities for varying ability levels. The offeror shall provide their
latest materials available to school systems in the United States as
stated in their most current catalog or price list. All materials shall
be free of racial, color, national origin, age, disabling conditions,
sexual, religious, and ethnic bias and shall present a balanced
coverage of multi-cultural contributions, where appropriate. Software
supplied, if any must be compatible with MAC 8.0, Windows NT or Windows
95, Microsoft Office, Lotus cc:Mail, Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes
and Novel Network versions 4.1 which are approved DoDEA standard
software packages. Contractors shall not submit any mathematics
instructional materials for review to schools, teachers, mathematics
coordinators or other employees of the Department of Defense Education
Activity during the solicitation phase of this acquisition. The
proposed contract(s) will be a requirements type contract with a base
period of twelve months with five option years. All responsible sources
may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. The
solicitation is expected to be issued approximately 11 Feb 99. The
solicitation will contain specific details concerning submission of
