(NRA) solicits basic research proposals for participation in the
National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) program to analyze
scientific data from the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory (Compton) and to
conduct correlative and theoretical research closely tied to Compton
observations. This NRA is the ninth announcement for the Compton GRO
Guest Investigator Program and solicits proposals for Cycle 9 of the
mission which will begin in December 1999, and last approximately 18
months. Observing time is available to Guest Investigators during this
phase and, in addition, opportunities exist for analysis of data
obtained during previous mission cycles and for correlative research or
for services such as software development or catalog preparation
related to Compton GRO research. Participation in this program is open
to all categories of organizations, domestic and foreign, including
educational institutions, profit and nonprofit organizations, NASA
centers, and other Government agencies. On February 01, 1999, this NRA

notice constitutes a NASA Research Announcement (NRA) as contemplated
in FAR 6.102(d)(2). NASA/HQ plans to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ)
