Office, Contracts Management Branch, 255 E. Paces Ferry Road, NE, Room
204, Atlanta, GA 30305 D -- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION REGARDING SATELLITE UPLINKING SERVICES
DUE 012599 POC Sandra Baxley, Contract Specialist, (404) 842-6881 This
is a modification to the Request for Information regarding satellite
uplinking services dated 12/14/98. The CBD submission number for the
original announcement is 278768. This modification is being issued to
include the following information: Satellite TRANSPONDERS must be
CAPABLE OF PASSING A 36 MHz bandwidth for C-Band and A 36 MHz bandwidth
or higher for Ku-Band. THE USE OF 27 MHZ KU-BAND transponders IS NOT
allowed. The use of any transponder (either C-Band or KU-Band) that
will not pass a minimum of 36 MHz will NOT deliver a standard one-volt
peak-to-peak color video signal level to a consumer grade satellite
receiver of any properly calibrated downlink site. Please discuss the
availability of satellites WITH TRANSPONDERS THAT CAN PASS A BANDWIDTH
OF 36 MHZ or higher and also address alternatives to achieve a quality
transmission. This modification changes the response due date to
012599. Posted 01/05/99 (I-SN285231). (0005) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0020 19990107\D-0004.SOL)
