TESTING OF AIRCREW CHEMICAL COVERALL (CWU-66/P) Reference Commerce Business Daily Special Notice Submission number 270783, dated 12 Nov 98, Subject: Aircrew chemical protective coverall (CWU-66/P). Brooks AFB, 311th HSW/YACG is searching for potential alternative adsorbent material sources to include in Air Force scheduled testing of the CWU-66/P laminated fabric cloth per FNS/PD 98-04 (dated 30 Jun 98). The referenced material is a chemical agent protective and fire resistant, activated carbon sphere, laminated cloth. The Air Force desires to conduct Aerosol, Vapor, Liquid, Assessment Group (AVLAG) testing on the currently approved CWU-66/P laminated fabric cloth to help determine an acceptable AVLAG test result level. As part of the process to become a Government approved source for the CWU-66/P laminated fabric material, and thus allow participation in future planned procurements of the CWU-66/P, material vendors will be required to have their supplied laminated fabric pass a minimum AVLAG acceptance level. The scheduled Air Force AVLAG test effort presents an opportunity for potential suppliers to "piggy-back" their AVLAG testing with the Air Force. This will allow for reduction of expenses for all parties and for conducting the most efficient experimental test design. Request potential vendors submit their materials for testing within 60 days of this CBD special notice.
