COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JANUARY 7,1999 PSA#2257EXTEND PERFORMANCE PERIOD OF EXISTING A/E CONTRACT NO. 263-95-C-0252 It
is the intent of the National Institutes of Health to extend the period
of performance of the existing contract (263-95-C-0252) to Maxim
Technologies, Inc. to allow for the operation of the Phase 11B
remediation action at the Bitterroot Valley Sanitary Landfill (BVSL)
"Groundwater Monitoring" in Ravalli County, Montana. The existing
contract (base and 4 option years) will expire at the end of calendar
year 2000. The need for the Phsase 11B action will erquire extension of
that contract through the calendar year 2005 in the form of an
additional five option years. Due to sensitive and highly complex
nature of the work it is in the best interests of the Government to
maintain the continiuty of expertise through extension of this
contract. Maxim Technologies Inc. has been associated with the project
since its inception and has amassed considerable knowledge of the site
and its environs. Maxim is responsible for the design and construction
of the Phase11B pilot test facility and full scale implementation
facilities. Maxim developed a transient groundwater model which
describes the transporation of contamination due to volatile organic
compounds in the vicinity of the Bitterroot Valley Landfill. See note
