On or about 04 February 1999, this office will issue Invitation for Bids for the construction of OPERATIONAL SUPPORT FACILITY, SCHRIEVER AFB, COLORADO. Bids will be opened on or about 11 March 1999. THIS SOLICITATION IS RESTRICTED TO SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION ONLY. A site visit will be held on 24 February 1999, at the proposed construction site. Contractors interested in inspecting the site must first stop at the Schriever AFB Pass and ID Building to obtain a vehicle pass and then proceed directly to the proposed construction site. The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) Project consists of a three story facility with a total floor space of approximately 4,300 square meters. Structural building materials include spread footings with first floor slab-on-grade. Framing and floor system is steel columns, beams and girders with lightweight concrete on composite steel decking. Roofing system is steel joist and metal roof decking with fiberboard and rigid insulation, topped with a ballasted EPDM system. Architectural facia features consist of composite metal panels/curtain wall system and pre-assembled stone veneer panels with stucco finish. Floor finishes include granite (lobby), carpet, vinyl composition tile, and porcelain tile. Interior walls consist of limestone, wood and gypboard. Interior finishes include painting, acoustical ceiling tiles, oak doors and trim. HVAC, plumbing, interior/exterior electrical, and communications will be required. Site work includes grading, paving (asphalt and concrete), site utilities, and landscaping. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $7,500,000 and $10,000,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 480 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. The plans and specifications are available on Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and will be provided free of charge. It has been determined that the number of Compact Disks be limited to one (1) per firm. Plans and Specifications will not be provided in a printed hard copy format.
