49 -- ADVANCED BORESIGHT EQUIPMENT P/N 40262-40000-10, OR EQUAL SOL N68335-99-R-0090 DUE 021899 POC L. Stibich, 732-323-4771; Contracting Officer is John L. Murtagh. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, New Jersey, intends to procure the Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) Advanced Boresight Equipment (ABE) system, consisting of the P/N 40262-40000-10 Advanced Boresight Equipment Model -- 300, the Boresight Reference Mirror (BRM) -- 7.5 degrees / Dual P/N 40262-40400-10 and the BRM -- 30 degrees / Dual P/N 40262-40410-10, or a different system of Equal capability, along with associated technical data. The ABE system referenced in this synopsis is manufactured by AAI Corporation, Hunt Valley MD. The required basic quantity is 3 each Advanced Boresight Equipment systems with a two year option period during which up to 7 additional ABE may be required. The ABE is a universal angular measurement system to be used to boresight all USN/USMC aircraft. The ABE system shall be easily integrated with existing peculiar aircraft boresight adapters currently used on US Navy and Marine Corps fixed and rotary wing aircraft. The ABE system shall provide a reliable, user friendly method of measuring the orientation (pitch, yaw, and roll) of aircraft external stores and store stations, and internal aircraft component mounting points. These orientations shall be measured relative to the Aircraft Datum Line (ADL). These stores stations and internal mounting points may vary with each different aircraft model, but may include gun mounts, rocket and missile launch pylons, internal mounts for HUD (Head-Up Displays) and IMU/INS (Inertial Measurement Unit/Inertial Navigation Unit), antennas and optical sights. Additionally, the ABE system shall be capable of providing a collimated precision target, in both the visible and infrared light spectrums, that can be "viewed" by visible and infrared optical systems. Full functionality of the ABE system shall not require a physical Line-of-Sight between the ABE, the ADL (or ADL adapter) and the aircraft station being measured. The ABE system shall be operated by Organizational ("O") -- Level personnel ashore and afloat. TheABE system shall be supplied with a field level operation and maintenance manual. Delivery of the basic quantity shall be within 360 days after contract award. Packaging and Marking shall be in accordance with best commercial practices. Delivery shall be FOB Origin.
