tb14j@nih.gov. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National
Institute on Aging (NIA), intends to negotiate with Wake Forest
University School of Medicine a seven year contract to collect
ancillary data to the Women's Health Initiative Memory Study (WHIMS).
Wake Forest University initiated the WHIMS study, which they are
currently conducting under private funding. All of the data to be
acquired under this proposed contract must be acquired from the WHIMS
participants. The data includes assessments of memory, cognition, and
mood in post-menopausal women participating in a randomized
double-blind clinical trial of the effects of hormone replacement
therapy (HRT) on a number of health-related outcomes. The appropriate
statutory authority is 41 USC 253(c)(1), as set forth in FAR
6.302-1(a)(2) and FAR 6.302-1(b)(1)(i). This is NOT a Request for
Proposal If, however, there are any responsible sources who feel they
possess the abilities which would enable them to perform this project,
they may submit a proposal which will be considered by NIH. SEE
