COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JANUARY 8,1999 PSA#2258U.S. Army Engineer District, Alaska, Attn: CENPA-CT-CO-M, P.O. Box 898,
Anchorage, AK 99506-0898 (Physical Address: Bluff and Plum Streets,
Building 21-700 (Room 200), Elmendorf AFB, AK 99506-0898) Y -- REPLACE HYDRANT FUEL SYSTEM NORTH RAMP, PHASE I, ELMENDORF AFB,
ALASKA POC Gail M. West, Contracting Officer, 907/753-2551, Corps of
Engineers 17. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the Alaska District
Corps of Engineers intends to use proprietary specifications for an
"ITT" Barton" Brand automatic tank gauging system, Driscopipe 8000
natural gas pipe and Monaco Fire alarm radio transmitter. All of the
Defense Fuel Supply Center bulk storage tanks in Alaska currently use
the ITT Barton system so that fuel supply data can be transmitted via
telecom lines to the central computer system. The system must interface
with the system already in place. The existing natural gas pipes on
Elmendorf AFB are Driscopipe 8000 and any new work requiring fusion to
these pipes must be of the same material. Driscopipe is the only known
material that meets this specification. The Base Fire Department
central fire alarm computer is a Monaco model D-700. This computer must
be compatible with the Monaco #BT2-4/8 fire alarm radio transmitter so
it is able to receive, recognize and translate incoming signals so
that life safety is not compromised. See numbered Note(s): 22. Posted
