Exceptions to specification: End to end DIM. 11-3/4 inch is met by
proper sized spools; special fail sate construction is req'd; soft seat
Rulon is acceptable; valve shall have Silbraze union ends; bulb rating
shall be 150 PSIG; temperature setting shall be 140 DEG.F. with a
adjustable range of 120 to 180 DEG. F; valve shall have a safety
shutdown of 5 DEG F MIN. 10 DEG F MAX. above setting; Inlet steam
pressure 40 to 100 PSIG, Inlet steam TEMP. Range 267 to 425 DEG F;
forged brass bonnet is acceptable; valve must be certified to operate
smoothly without hesitation at various back pressures up to 10 PSIG;
shock and vibration tests are req'd; Valve dimensions are as follows:
Face to face of 11-3/4 in,; distance below center-line of inlet and
outlet ports is 9 inches MAX.; distance above center-line of inlet and
outlet ports is 15 inches MAX.; valve with is 14 inches MAX.; The
thermal element dimensions are: Retaining nut 1 1/8-12 straight thread,
1 inch combined length of retaining nut pllus thickness of seal, 15 1/2
inch MAX length into the heater and the thermal bulb DIA less than
13/16 inches, bulbs may be completely flexible or flexible with rigid
portions not to exceed 7 inches in length. Qty. of 7 each are required,
to be delivered to Norfolk, Va and 8 each, to be delivered to Tracy CA,
100 days after after date of award. Solicitation is a RFQ with
anticipated award date of 2/12/99. Copies of this solicitatiion are

will not be available until 15 days after published in the CBD. This
procurement is a critical QPL item. All responsible sources may submit
a quote, which shall be considered (see Note 26). This solicitatioin

While price may be a significant factor in the evaluation of offers,
the final award decision will be based upon a combination of price,
delivery, past performance and othe evaluation factors as described in
