The Bureau of Reclamation is seeking potential sources for an Underwater Lighting System used for moving fish from intake areas. The required equipment shall meet the following specs: Flashheads -- The flashhead cases shall be made from cast aluminum with stainless steel mounting hardware. Eash flashtube shall be encapsulated in watertight cases that are depth rated to 200 feet. Power Converter -- The power converter shall be powered by 120 volts, 60 Hz with access to flash controls. The power converter shall be solid state with safety interlocks and internal surge protection. Cable -- Each flashhead will have 225 feet of 6340 interconnect cable. This cable shall be shielded and designed for pulse flashheads. The system shall be covered by a warranty for one year from the date of purchase. Potential sources with the capability of furnishing equipment with the above characteristics are encouraged to submit substantiation to the Bureau of Reclamation, in writing, either by mail, fax, or transmittal to the e-mail address listed below no later than January 22, 1999. Responses should include brochures or other illustrative material sufficient detail to demonstrate the respondent's ability to meet the requirements stated above, and should include the firm's Dun and Bradstreet number, Tax Identification Number (TIN), and business size. Firms should identify themselves as either small business, or other than small business, in accordance with the size standard for Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code 3648 which is 500 employees. This notice is for market research purposes only, however, the information gathered from this notice will be used to determine which preference program will be used to process the acquisition (e.g., 8(a) set-aside under the Small Business Administration's 8(a) program, total small business set-aside, full and open competition). No preference program determination will be made until the market research has been completed.
