This notice is issued for the dual purpose of advertising for (1) the competitive solicitation of offers for an immediate requirement of mailsack production and (2) the solicitation of interested manufacturers for establishing a pre-qualified source list for future requirements. The immediate requirement is for production and national delivery prior to August 15, 1999 of 400,000each No. 3 white Cordura Nylon Mailsacks under Postal Service Data List 1050167 REV C dated 4/22/98. A general description involves overall finished dimension of 24"W x 25"L, it requires 11 grommets/washers, lacing cord, and locking cordfastener assembly, and the material is colorless cloth, duck, nylon, 7.7 ounce. Solicitation package will include one set of the Data List drawings and specificiation and takes precedence over any description in this CBD notice. Specific instructions in solicitation package will require submission of supplier specific data related to capability, capacity and past performance; financial data; costand price data. Expected issue date is on/about January 20, 1999. All interested parties must submit their request for this package in writing to Judy Beigbeder no later than January 18 and the quantity of packages to be issued is limited to 75. Proposal due date will be within 21 days after solicitation issue date. In addition to the immediate requirement suppliers requesting the solicitation package will also receive a pre-qualification package for of all sizes/styles of nylon mailsacks. The resulting list of pre-qualified suppliers will be used to for future competitive requirements through August 2004. Suppliers not interested in submitting a proposal for the immediate requirement but interested in the pre-qualification review should request Solicitation 102590-99-A-0031 just the same in order to receive both packages.
