The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, Rhode Island intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price contract to the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Al 35487 on a Sole Source basis pursuant to the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) only one responsible source under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures and FAR Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items. This is a Sole Source acquisition due to the fact that the studies encompassing this requirement are a continuation of earlier research conducted at the University of Alabama by Dr. Beverly Roskos-Ewoldswn, Ph.D., and Jill Prestopnik, M.A. The anticipated scope is as follows: the contractor shall provide research support for the Spatial Thinking Abilities Assessment Program including but not limited to recruitment of 200 subjects for study, data collection utilizing psychological measures, training subgroups according to different emphasis on spatial abilities, maintaining a database of findings, and assisting in the analysis of the aforementioned database. Deliverables will include prepared data sets and a report relating to the documentation of data collection and procedures for specified tasks.
