R Support for the collection and dissemination of information to assist
in the global effort of humanitarian de-mining. This effort is required
for the continued support of the US Department of Defense's Global
Humanitarian De-mining program. This objective will be attained through
continued staffing and the development and maintenance of the Mine
Action Information Center and its programs. The contractor shall 1)
maintain and upgrade the previously established web site; 2) continue
the publication of the Journal of Humanitarian De-Mining; 3) sponsor
and attend landmine related conferences and symposia; 4) create
appropriate data bases; 5) coordinate with the international mine
action and victims assistance communities; 6) submit reports and
studies; and 7) perform other tasks as required by the Department of
Defense. The contractor's products and services in this regard will
follow US Government policy and programmatic guidelines. These
guidelines include efforts to support and improve global mine action
projects to include those which directly support US military
humanitarian de-mining and the development of cooperative mine action
programs industrialized (donor) nations. This procurement must be
performed through an accredited university. A determination by the
Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses
to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government under
the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Information received will be considered
solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a
competitive procurement. This notice is strictly for the purpose of
"Sources Sought" only. All inquiries must be received in this office
within 10 calendar days from the date this publication first appears.
