P.M. The federal government is committed to use Electronic Data
Interchange (EDI) for its procurement and acquisition transactions. The
seminar provides information for small businesses on how to use EDI to
compete for government contracts. Topics of discussion will include:
an introduction to EDI terms and concepts, an overview of the
government EDI systems, FACNET, explanation of the components of a
complete EDI system, EDI implementation considerations for a small
business, and how to effectively use EDI to do business with the
government. The instructors for this class will be Fred Nevels of the
Electronic Commerce Resource Center and Jim Regan, Director of PTAP.
Class will be held at the Entrepreneurship Center, 4031 University
Drive, Suite 200, Fairfax, VA. Cost is $35 prepaid or $40 at the door.
