COAST GUARD AVIATION TRAINING CENTER, MOBILE, ALABAMA SOL DTCG82-99-B-DAX004 DUE 030999 POC Judy Stamper, 305-278-6724 Base Bid Item: Furnish all labor, materials and equipment necessary for replacing a Wash Rack Apron. The existing concrete apron measures 180 feet x 107 feet varying in thickness from 6 to 10 inches. Install a combined surface and underground drainage system. Three-grate inlets combined will constitute the majority of the stormwater collection system. Subsurface flow is to be intercepted by 4 inch underdrain pipes and infiltration trenches constructed underneath the new apron. The underdrain pipes are to be connected to the three-grate inlets located within the apron. The concrete apron will be located in the same area as the existing apron. The new apron will measure 177 feet x 107 feet, 7 inches thick, unreinforced, except in the areas where storm drainage is located and the perimeter slabs with monolithic curb. Additive Item: Replace existing trench grates at each end of the aircraft hangar. Remove existing grates and frame structures. The new trench frame and grate system shall consist of a prefabricated system. The estimated price range is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. Bid guarantee, payment and performance bonds are required. There will be a charge of $20.00 for the specifications and drawings. The check is to be made payable to the U. S. Coast Guard. This solicitation is being issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to both large and small business participation. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by this agency. Concerns who previously requested this project under the presolicitation notice (12/98) need not request again.
