The Military District of Washington Acquisition Center (MDWAC), Fort Belvoir, Virginia intends to issue a solicitation to provide complete catering services to government administrative facilities. Services shall include providing adequate management, labor, material, supplies, transportation, equipment, planning, scheduling, coordinating food catering services. This services shall also include serving cold lunches, hot lunches, breaks and dinner meals. Deserts and snacks shall be served when requested by the authorized Government representative. Food preparation may be on or off site depending on the specific facility. The service shall provide adequate support for the MDW community to include Forts: McNair, Washington, DC, Meade, MD, Myer, VA, Hamilton, NY, AP Hill, VA, ande the National Defense University, Washington, DC. Contractor personnel may be required to obtain and maintain an appropriate level of Security Clearance. Period of performance will be based on the current year's budget and the needs of the requiring activity at the time of contract award. The proposed procurement is not to preclude the utilization of Small Business Set-Aside. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) is 5812. This Request for Information (RFI) does not constitute an Invitation for Bids or a Request for Proposal. Any procurement action for catering or food services will be the subject of a separate, future announcement. All responses to this RFI, to include questions and comments, are to be submitted to the MDWAC not later than 18 FEB 99. This procurement action could result in either single or multiple contract award(s). Based on industry response to this RFI, a solicitation will be available via the Internet on or about 28 APR 99. The evaluation of responses to this RFI will be based on the ability of the respondent to satisfy the government's requirement. The government will not reimburse the respondent for any costs associated with information submitted and is under no obligation to award any related contract associated with this RFI.
