74 -- UPGRADE LANIER DICTATION SYSTEM SOL RFP 509-32-99 DUE 012899 POC Sylvia D. Henry, (706) 731-7175 VA Medical Center (VAMC), Augusta, Georgia intends to solicit and negotiate with only one (1) source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 for the upgrading of existing Lanier Incorporated dictation system to include the following: 1) MedWord for Windows 95 (20 User Network Package) comprised of HP NetServer LC2 300, 4.2GB Hot-Swap SCSI disk drive, HPDAT24 tape backup (DAT), arcada backup, software (unlimited user), 12GB DAT tapes (5), MedWord for Windows 95 Network package, WordPerfect for Windows Network PK or MS Word, NetWare 25 user, or Windows NT; 2) MedWord Merge and Route Utility Software; 3) MedWord for Windows 95 seat license; 4) Stedman's Version 6.0 single user pack; 5) MedWord for Windows Fax NT software only (includes VIP Connectivity software, VIP Connectivity software key, MedWord for Windows 6.3 Update software, 1-MedWord VIP user license, installation and user manuals); 6) MedWord for Windows VIP NT; 7) MPI Services Software; 8) Transcription Report (TR) Upload Software; 9) Installation of all software; 10) In-House training for above upgrades; 11) Maintenance agreement for server and software which provides full support of the system hardware and software 24 hrs a day, 365 days a year. Includes application support and training to ensure full utilization of the system; unlimited calls to the Customer Support Center (NOTE: software updates of Lanier software are included in said maintenance agreement for both VoiceWriter and MedWin systems. Third party software, updates or newer versions are not included. Example of third party software is the Stedman's Medical SpellCheck). Maintenance also includes (a) 100% uptime guarantee, (b) Priority service dispatch through customer service center, (c) Disaster response system ready to be shipped if needed, and ten (10) year quaranteed availability of service parts and supplies. The following is covered: Software and Server; 12) Combine all dictation into one (1) system using Radiology dictation system which can be upgraded to year 2000 compliant. Upgrade database module; 13) Upgrade Voice Storage Unit; 14) Management consoles (2 ea); 15) Upgrade digital channel selector; 16) Installation charge for upgrades; 17) Add the following to the system: Dictate stations in Radiology with bar-code reader (4 ea); 18) Portable dictate with bar-code scan in Radiology (capable of down loading voice and data to the central station for transcription; 19) Hands free dictation in Pathology (with foot control); 20) Dictation station with hand mic in Pathology; 21) Portable dictation in Pathology; 22) Transcription in Pathology; 23) Transcription in Medical Records; 24) Maintenance agreement for Dictation system provides full support of the system hardware, 24 hrs a day, 365 days a year, application support and training, 100% guarantee, Priority Service Dispatch through customer service center, Disaster Response System ready to be shipped if needed, and ten (10) year quaranteed availability of service parts and supplies. The following is covered: Voicewriter NT: Voice Storage SErvice, Database server component, management consoles, digital channel selector, 24 ea VoiceWrite EX stations, 18 ea VoiceWrite Windows, 17 ea Voicewriter telephone interface, 21 ea VoiceWriter EX Datamic 12MM printers, 2 HP laser printer package, after hours service. Warranty for 90 days parts and labor. FOB is destination. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received with 15 days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government.
