The subscription service must provide users with the ability to retrieve, view and print the full text articles, including all tables, graphs, pictures and diagrams, for the following key medical and nursing journals. Full text coverage must be provided at a minimum from 1995 to the present. The subscription service include the capability to establish two "user pools" for users who are connecting to the service. One pool must support up to 8 simultaneous user sessions, and the second user pool must support up to 12 simultaneous user sessions. Activities participating in the subscription will each be assigned to one of the user pools. 5. The system must provide the capability for a single access account to be assigned to each participating activity. This account must support multiple simultaneous user sessions, up to the maximum number of simultaneous user sessions (8 or 12) which are supported by the user pool to which the activity is assigned. Sessions within each pool should be allocated on a "first come, first serve" basis. 6. The subscription service must include the capability for the user to search and retrieve biomedical literature citations and abstracts from the MEDLINE database which is maintained by the National Library of Medicine. The MEDLINE searching capability must cover the time period from 1966 to the present. Full MEDLINE searching must be available for this period which is not limited to only the journals for which full text articles are available. 7. The subscription service must include the capability for users to link directly from citations identified using the MEDLINE search capability to the pertinent full text articles for the journals which are included in the subscription. This linking capability must be provided for the full time frame for which full text articles are available for each journal (minimum 1995 to present). 8. The subscription service must include a capability which allows users to link directly from MEDLINE citations and full text journal articles to related articles in the CochraneDatabase of Systematic Reviews as well as the ACP Journal Club and Evidence-Based Medicine databases. The capability must also be provided for users to retrieve a specific full text article from a covered journal or database without using the MEDLINE search feature. 9. The subscription service must include the capability for the user to view or print full text articles from covered journals, as well as the capability to send copies of full text articles to other users via electronic mail. 10. The subscription service must allow users to obtain access via any of the following interfaces: a. VT100 TELNET session. b. Web browser (Netscape 2.0 or greater and Internet Explorer 3.0 or greater). 11. To minimize support requirements, the subscription service must allow users with Web browsers to view and print full text articles, including tables, graphs, pictures and diagrams that are part of the article, without requiring the installation or use of a supplemental viewing/printing program (e.g., Adobe Acrobat Reader). 12. The subscription service must include the capability for the account administrator to obtain weekly usage statistics showing total logins by account and total connection time by account.
