The Government intends to negotiate with McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Boeing Company, P.O. Box 516, St Louis, MO, 63166-0516, to procure updates for the Simulated Aircraft Maintenance Trainer (SAMT) under the F/A-18 Program for Switzerland, Malaysia, and Finland. This effort is to be performed through April 30, 2000, and it is anticipated that this will be made via delivery order under N00019-97-G-0051. According to their Letters of Agreement with the United States, Switzerland, Malsysia, and Finland has designated the McDonnell Douglas Corporation the sole source designer, producer, and supporter of the F/A-18 aircraft and the only known source with the knowledge, experience, and proprietary technical data to perform this task within the required time-frame.
