Department has a continued need of the existing contractor (MGIC
Investor Services Corporation), under Contract C-OPC-18131, to perform
the reconciliation of the risk-based portfolio until HUD's Single
Family Premium Collection System -- Periodic (SFPCS-P) replacement
system is fully operational. The Department is in its final development
stages of SFPCS-P. Implementation is scheduled for September 1999.
Therefore, the contract requires a base 6-month extension period (Mar
1999 through Aug 1999 -- Aug being the transistioning month). However,
should unforeseen system development delays occur, an additional
4-month option period is being included to accommodate such delays.
This requirement satisfies the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of
1990 and the National Affordable Housing Act that requires the
collection of risk-based premiums for mortgages insured under the
provisions of the Mutual Mortgage Insurance fund. See Note 22. Posted
