The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate a sole source level of effort contract with McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, P.O. Box 516, St. Louis, MO 63166-0516, for design agent engineering functions, installation, training, and customer support functions for the HARPOON Ship Command Launch Control System (HSCLCS), HARPOON Operator and Team Training System (HOTTS), Encapsulated HARPOON Command Launch Systems (EHCLS), Advanced HARPOON Weapon Control Systems (AHWCS), and existing and advanced ship and submarine weapons systems suites, to support the U.S. Navy and various FMS customers. McDonnell Douglas Corporation is the designer, developer, and sole producer of the HARPOON ship and submarine Launch Control Systems for USN and FMS customers. As such, McDonnell Douglas Corporation is the only source possessing the unique knowledge, experience, and technical data which is required to perform the described effort in the required time frame.A cost-plus-fixed-fee, level-of-effort contract is contemplated.
