The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate an order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-98-G-0105 with McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MDC), a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company to procure twelve (12) Airframe Change Kits (AFC) under Engineering Change Proposal MDA-AV8B-180R1, Automatic Target Hand-Off System II (ATHS II) with an option for fifteen (15) additional kits. Deliveries are anticipated to begin fifteen (15) months after date of award at a rate of two (2) kits per month. MDC is the sole developer and integrator of the AV-8B aircraft and therefore, is the only known source with the expertise, technical data, equipment, and experienced personnel necessary to perform the required effort.
