Postal Service (USPS) is conducting a prequalification to select the best suppliers capable of providing IBM OS/390 mainframe storage products, with upgrades, installation of equipment, documentation, maintenance and technical support services. The suppliers determined to be prequalified will be eligible to enter into an Ordering Agreement for up to eight years. These agreements will be the basis for individual competitions among the agreement holders as future requirements develop. These Direct Access Storage Devices (DASD) support existing large scale mainframe processors at USPS Customer Operation Support Centers located in San Mateo, CA, Eagan, MN and Raleigh, NC. The DASD units provided to the USPS must be new and currently manufactured models. Suppliers must meet the following requirements at the time and date set for receipt of submissions to this prequalification notice. The mandatory technical requirements of suppliers includes the following: 1) Full IBM 3990-6 controller feature compatibility; 2) IBM Concurrent Copy compatibility; 3) Data Migration methodology and plan to replace older Disk Subsystems with current products, nondisruptively (weekend outage allowed); 4) Vendor Disk storage Subsystems must be actively used and supported in large OS/390 Parallel Sysplex Accounts, including 350 TB of Disk Storage Subsystems supported in an OS/390 environment. This storage must be used by OS/390 for its catalogs, VTOCs, Databases, user and system data.; 5) Each vendor must have 5 reference accounts, each with more that 3 Disk Subsystems installed, each subsystem with more than 700GB, each used by OS/390 for its catalogs, VTOCs, Databases, user and system data.; 6) Each Ordering Agreement awardee will be required to provide maintenance. Subcontracting for maintenance and/or technical service support is prohibited. Suppliers should submit: a capability statement identifying the above mandatory technical requirements; names, phone numbers, email addresses for each of the five reference accountsand how each reference meets requirement 5) above; and current financial statements (Balance, and Income) for past two years and interim financial report less than six months old. If during the review of a supplier's prequalification submission, the USPS determines that the supplier does not meet one of the requirements, the USPS will stop reviewing that supplier's submission and supplier will be notified that it was determined not prequalified.
