This assessment will be a national household survey of adult's ages 16 or older. This project, targeted for the year 2002, will assess the status of the literacy skills of the nation's adults as well as evaluate changes in the status of literacy over the past decade. The Department wishes to provide the public information on materials that may be helpful in understanding this project prior to the release of the RFP. Please log on the following Internet site: http//nces.ed.gov/nadlits. At this site the public will be able to view documents produced in preparation for the 2002 survey.
