anticipates issuing a competitive Small Business Set-Aside (SBSA)
solicitation (RFP) on or about 29 Jan 1999 (with closing 30 days after
issuance) for field equipment maintenance services at locations
throughout the United States and help desk support services at the U.S.
Customs Service, Newington Data Facility, Springfield, VA. This
requirement will provide maintenance service and repair parts support
to keep all types of Customs equipment in good operating condition, in
accordance with the best commercial practices, and within required
response time standards. Help Desk technical support services will be
required for all hardware and software to be maintained under the
contract. The contract will be awarded for a base period of performance
with the Government having the right to unilaterally exercise four (4)
one year options. This procurement is a Small Business Set-Aside
(SBSA). The SIC is 7379. The RFP will be posted on the Customs website
at www.customs .treas.gov. HARD COPIES OF THE RFP WILL NOT BE ISSUED.
Currently, a draft statement of work (sow) is posted at the website
for vendor review/comment. All comments must be submitted via email and
by no later than 25 Jan 1999. Comments received may or may not be
incorporated into the final version of the sow at the Governments
