Q -- BLOOD PRODUCT SUPPORT -- POTENTIAL SOURCES SOUGHT DUE 012799 POC Sunsirey Campbell, Contracting Officer (719)556-4269, e-mail[scampbel@spacecom.af.mil] or Chester Hart, Contract Specialist (719)556-4550, e-mail [cheshart@spacecom.af.mil] DESC: Request For Information (RFI)/Sources Sought (SS) for blood product support to provide 8 units packed red blood cells, O positive (O pos) and 4 units packed red blood cells, O negative (O neg). All product shall be procured, handled, processed, and shipped in accordance with US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) standards. All products shall be FDA-licensed. All products shall be procured from a facility licensed by the FDA to process and ship the specified product. Blood products shall be packed and shipped per FDA regulations in containers designed to keep the blood at 1-10C for 48 hours. The shipping container shall be labeled with instructions for re-icing of blood products. As a minimum blood products will be replaced monthly. Delivery should be timed to arrive at destination no less than 5 days prior to the expiration date of products currently in place. Blood product may be shipped to either McGuire AFB (Military Aircraft or Baltimore BWI (Military Charter) for transshipment tofinal destination Thule Air Base Greenland. Said flights scheduled once weekly. Those sources, who believe that they can provide the support that could meet the above requirements (or easily modified to be able to meet the above requirements) are encouraged to provide specifications, item description, and other pertinent material. The information will be used to enable this office to develop an acquisition strategy towards acquiring the required blood support. Any information relative to delivery and price history would also be helpful. Any proprietary information should be marked as such. This RFI/SS is for information and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the US Government. The purpose of this RFI/SS is to identify potential sources that may be interested in and capable of performing the support described herein. US Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of responses nor otherwise pay for the preparation of any information submitted.
