This is a Request for Quotations using the procedures allowed for Commercial Item acquisition (see FAR Parts 12 -- -Acquisition of Commercial Items and 13.5 -- -Test Program for Certain Commercial Items). We are acquiring comprehensive medical services for the Federal Bureau of Prison institutions located in Lompoc, California. The total inmate population is approximately 3,000. The resulting contract will be for a base year and a one-year option period. Comprehensive medical services include inpatient and outpatient hospital services, inpatient and outpatient physicians services, and outpatient institution services. We intend to award a single contract to include all these services, however multiple awards may be made. Ideally, the contract will include comprehensive billing for all services, including physician. Award will be made based on the Best Value to the Government. This solicitation, no. RFQ-617-0069-9, will be issued on or about January 22, 1999. Quotations will be due thirty (30) calendar days after date of issue.
